IOM was successful in reintegration of an Iraqi man in his country of origin
The #IOMAVRRBulgaria, the assisted voluntary return and reintegration (AVRR) team of IOM, in partnership with #IOMAVRRIraq, successfully reintegrated in his country of origin Afraz, 33, from Dohuk, Iraq. #IOMAVRRBulgaria team coordinated voluntary return and reintegration of Afraz, who is a vulnerable individual and as such he is eligible for reintegration allowance upon return. The AVRR team of IOM Bulgaria drafted an individual reintegration plan of Afraz and carried out intense communication with IOM Erbil on meeting requirements of reintegration allowance on his behalf. #IOMAVRRBulgaria supported Afraz in implementation of his plan on business partnership with the bakery in Dohuk, where he had worked before departing for Europe, by funding his purchase of raw materials and covering utility rent.
“Life In your home country is much better than Europe,” Afraz said. “IOM gave me hope in my life, after nearly losing hope in everything,” he concluded.
