We talked about the culture of Bulgaria with unaccompanied minors from Afghanista. We presented information about the traditions, customs, and holidays in Bulgaria.

The #IOMAVRRBulgaria, the assisted voluntary return and reintegration (AVRR) team of IOM, successfully accomplished the return of nine people from Iraq in their country of origin.

The Information centres of IOM in Sofia and Burgas continue to organize groups in remote Bulgarian language education. The education is using the ZOOM platform. The number of attendees in one group is still up to 15 persons.

On the request of the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children relocated from Greece and accommodated in RRC Harmanli, a cooking workshop was organized as an initiative of IOM’s mobile teams.

Last week again we had the opportunity to work in RRC Harmanli on one of our favourite themes – “Superheroes” and their superpowers.

The course aims to help them integrate better in the host society, allow them to participate in more daily activities and feel less isolated.

After that, IOM’s social workers screened a popular #Arabic film for the kids, at their request.

On the first workday in 2021, the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, accommodated in the Safety Zone in RRC Sofia – Voenna Rampa, spent the afternoon hours of the day playing games.
