The East meets the West in music
On the 16th of October at “Oborishte 5” hall, a multicultural information event was held, organized by IOM Bulgaria. Shortly after 18:00, the guests of the emblematic cultural space on 5 Oborishte st. had the pleasure to enjoy a screening of the documentary film “Guest”, followed by the magical interpretation of traditional for the Arab folklore songs performed by the virtuosos Ivan Penchev (violin) and Denitsa Dimitrova (harp). The concert programme was followed by loud applause and many of the guests managed to meet the musicians, share a word and even take a photo with them. At the end, all guests had the opportunity to try the tasty and authentic meals from bistro “Caristo”, which helped for the full immersion in the Middle East atmosphere.
IOM Bulgaria would like to thank the managers of the hall, the musicians, the catering service and all guests, without whom the event wouldn’t be possible.
The event was organized as part of the project “Raising the awareness of the Bulgarian society and migrant communities in Bulgaria,” funded by the National Program of Bulgaria under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2014–2020.
