IOM Bulgaria Takes Part in Training for Consuls-To-Be
International organization for migration (IOM) held a training session for young diplomats in the framework of a specialized course on the theme of "Consular Diplomacy", organized by the Diplomatic Institute in coordination with Directorate "Consular Relations" with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The aim of the session was to acquaint the future consuls with the operational challenges we face when working to return Bulgarian citizens, victims of human trafficking, to their homeland. During the session, the Head of Office of International Organization for Migration in Bulgaria, Mr Radoslav Stamenkov, explained to young diplomats the actions of interinstitutional coordination in the assist and return of victims of human trafficking, the outside factors, impacting the work in this sphere, as well as the current data trends and good practices in combatting human trafficking.
In the training took part 38 future consuls, before appointments in the consulates of Republic of Bulgaria.
